Could you please consider teaching Karanas.

Dear Gopinathan,

It is very difficult to teach Karanas on a recorded platform. Although, we would have loved to share this knowledge, it must be done in person ideally. Even my students who are in class with me nearly everyday of the week find it difficult to learn after almost 10 years.

The angas, upangas, and sthanakas are all there as a preparation to karanas in the natyashastra series. I have been considering charis , but I am not sure about this on an online platform. Maybe after checking with my Gurus, I will share this.

so what is your question exactly - seeing the karanas it in a new light - or perhaps more detailed - or somethng else? for instance why a mala neclace have more than 100 beads?

Hi Kara,
Good for you if you already know Karanas. Not everyone is lucky to have a Guru who could teach Karanas, especially when you are living abroad. Also, good luck with learning Karanas from the above video. If it was so simple, dancers wont be spending years to learn each Karanas and hours daily to practice it.

Ignorance is not a crime. It is bliss.
