Sorry I missed this comment on the forum. If you are having trouble lifting the foot, it means that you are unable to engage your turnout. Rather than moving through it, try holding it for 30 secs on each side, and repeat it Right and left at least three times. Make sure your arms stay on your waist and that you are not putting your arms forward to counter balance. This will help build your turn out. Also try to be more aware and engaged in your core, it will help stabilise such that you can engage your turn out muscles.
There will be a few new videos next month that address turn out specifically. That should help as well.

That last thing is, also try doing the hip opener series before going into Alidam again. That should also help it.
