Hi Maam,
I learnt the first Aaditala korwe from your instructional video with such ease. I want to thank you a lot for such a lovely demonstrational video. However, i wanted to put forward a request to you : would be kind enough to post some instructional videos for the sarvalaghu jathis (especially the second one)? If its possible for you maam, then I’d be grateful if you could post the instructional videos for the jathis at this stage.
I have another question regarding the material (about the korwe kanaks and the talaam chart in excel). Have they been already included in the folder you mentioned in the video? Am I missing them or it is so that they haven’t been posted yet because I can’t seem to find any document files.
I have one more amateurish question for you maam. If you could once explain why we are learning the jathis and korwes separately at first. Will they be used in conjunction later to develop a piece of pure dance? Or are they only for practicing the dance form and understanding the rhythms and talaams involved at this level?
Hope that I’m not bothering you much maam. Eagerly looking forward to your replies :)
Warm regards
Sreetama
Dear Sreetama,
I presumed the Sarvalaghu jathis would be easier since the counts are in fours. Can you please try to watch a couple times and do it? It will take a while to plan and make a video. Since I didn't plan on making any for those. I am certain you can learn them if you also practice your adavus.
To answer your second question, the online program is structured similar to a regular class, so the korwes are just to learn and introduce you to a pattern of rhythm, movement and choreography. Some Jathis you will find in the repertoire later, and others perhaps not.
Lastly, the files with numbers, we haven't found a way to make them downloadable yet, or viewable online. If you write it down as you watch the video, it will be the same thing. But please give us a couple weeks to figure out the downloadable files. They are more important for the repertoire section.
Warmth
Rukmini
