Repertoire
16 Seasons
The Repertoire will include a Margam in the first series and subsequently include other choreography that has made its way onto the stage in Bharatanatyam performances. All the work will be choreographed by Rukmini Vijayakumar. The Repertoire is structured in such a way that it goes from basic and essential to explorative. Please work your way through the repertoire from the beginning in order to assimilate and understand the intent of the Raadha Kalpa method. The Repertoire section will be supplemented by live video streaming classes periodically. The release of new choreography will be paced such that students have enough time to work on the previous choreography.
The Margam in todays performance arena has changed substantially to include many other types of choreography. The Margam that we will first introduce will consist of a Pushpanjali, a Saraswati stuti, a Varnam, Padam and Tillana. Very often dancers choose to dance a Kautvam, Mallari or Allaripu as the invocatory piece. The Varnam is also often substituted by other work in a similar format. The other structures of choreography will be introduced after the first Margam is completed.
