Jathis and Korwes

Jathis and Korwes

3 Seasons

There will be many Jathis and Korwais in different Talams that will be broken down and taught so the student understands the structure and choreography and mathematical logic of these rhythmic sequences. Please also remember that the Raadha Kalpa method likes to reinforce the idea of neutrality in the physical form in pure nritta. This means that the eyes, head movements and facial expression all remain fairly basic. The Nritta takes on these accents only when placed within a specific choreography. So it is upto the student to vary and accent the Nritta in his/her own way. The embellishments of the basic Nriita must be an individual choice. So all Nritta portions will not have any of these added, so the student is not encouraged to copy the accents.

Please watch the intro video to understand how this section will be addressed.
